What's happening, in a few honest words
Told plainly, and only what the family is comfortable sharing.
Kaylee is 11. She starts sixth grade in the fall, plays softball, and spends most of what's left of the day trailing after her big sister, Alexis, or getting talked into something by her little brother, Jackson.
This month she was diagnosed with a rare bone cancer, and treatment has already started. There was no warning. In the space of a few days, everything about this family's life turned upside down.
The road ahead is long. This is a year of intensive treatment, not a few weeks of it. Hospital stays, hard stretches where she can't be around other kids, and a lot of sixth grade she won't get back. Kaylee is tough. She's also 11, and no 11-year-old should have to be this tough.
Cynthia and Luke are doing what any parents would: pouring everything into Kaylee while still showing up for Alexis (13) and Jackson (6), who need their parents too and don't fully understand why the house feels different. The appointments are constant, the drives are long, and the ordinary parts of life don't pause for any of it.
This page is a way for the people who love them, and for the extended community who've never met them, to take some of that weight off.
